Market House vote wasn't pretty, but it was a decision

What’s the old saw about sausage and law? Mark Twain, the 19th-century humorist, wrote: “Those that respect the law and love sausage should watch neither being made.” If they sell sausages at the new Market House, those few — those lucky few — who suffered through a five-hour City Council meeting Monday night will be able to say they ignored Sam Clemens’ advice twice in one night and somehow survived. Whether at City Hall or at home watching the live video feed, the hardy faithful were rewarded with a messy, confusing decision to start lease negotiations with New Market LLC as the operator of a revamped Market House.
