Pride Center of Maryland eyes $7.4M LGBT center in Charles North

The Pride Center of Maryland is looking to build a new home for the nonprofit on an empty lot in Baltimore's Charles North neighborhood. The nearly $7.4 million center would house offices for the organization that offers programs and services for the state's LGBT population, as well as provide a safe space for community members, room for programming, events and more. Mimi Demissew, executive director of the Pride Center, said the new five-story building center would give the organization a permanent space to own while developing a steady revenue stream by renting out some of the project.
