Final Work on B-CC Track Delayed Until Spring

Installation of a new track at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School has been delayed several months. The delay will force track and field athletes to have all “away” meets in the upcoming season for the fourth consecutive year. The track closed in 2016, when construction began on a 34-classroom addition that increased the Bethesda school’s capacity to 2,400 students. The addition was completed in August 2018, but the track remained closed as construction crews worked to install a new artificial turf field. The field, originally expected to be open for use by last spring, hit several delays and just opened in September. (Bethesda)
