The first major campaign fund-raising period of the 2010 campaign season officially ended August 10th. Maryland candidates are required to file their annual finance reports with state officials this week. With the September primary election and November general elections just around the corner, Center Maryland has gone through the data to determine how much candidates raised since their January reports, and how much money they have on hand to spend.

Center Maryland pulled together data on some of the prominent state officials, and also tried to pick out data from some of what appear to be Maryland’s competitive races.

For some candidates, their data had not yet been posted to the state’s campaign finance website as of Tuesday night. As soon as their numbers become available, we’ll add their totals. (Note: We only analyzed the main accounts for candidates, and — except for the governor’s race — did not include separate “slate” accounts that they may participate in.)

Are there other competitive races that we should be keeping an eye on? Send us an email at to let us know.
