An internal campaign polling document obtained by Center Maryland shows state Sen. Rob Garagiola holds a 10 percentage point lead over businessman John Delaney in the Democratic primary race to in Maryland's 6th Congressional District.

The Garagiola campaign poll -- conducted among 602 likely Democratic primary voters in late January by the firm Anzalone Liszt Research -- found that most voters are undecided, but concluded that Garagiola's experience in the state Senate could prove to be a key advantage.

About 20 percent of the Congressional District's primary voters are expected to come from Garagiola's Senate District 15, and the state senator leads among those voters by 50 percent to 4 percent for Delaney.
